Howard is based in Melbourne, Victoria.
Among Australia’s farming communities, Howard is an iconic brand; a direct descendant of the original company that started in Australia in 1923 when the first rotary hoe was produced.
Since then, Howard has established itself as one of the most respected and successful short-line providers in the country and has, as part of its portfolio, an enviable line-up of top quality products covering a diversity of farming applications. Supported by a team of dedicated and experienced industry professionals and an extensive nationwide dealer network, the name Howard has become synonymous with quality, service, reliability and longevity.
In Australia Howard is supported by PFG Australia Pty Limited.
PFG Australia is a fully independent and privately-owned group of companies, who have a three-generation history of serving the New Zealand and Australian tractor and machinery markets. In 2017, PFG expanded its international footprint by securing the exclusive distribution rights to Deutz-Fahr tractors in the USA.
PFG now operates as three main trading groups:
- Power Farming New Zealand – wholesale and retail distribution
- PFG Australia – wholesale distribution
- PFG America - wholesale distribution
Collectively, these operations generate an annual turnover of approximately $350m and employ 380 people.
PFG sources leading tractor and agricultural machinery brands from around the world and distributes them through extensive dealer networks in all three countries. Without exception, the brands concerned are best-in-class products incorporating the latest in technology and design.
The various local markets are served from strategically located distribution hubs in Yatala (Queensland), Melbourne (Victoria), Christchurch (NZ), Morrinsville (NZ) and Atlanta (Georgia).
In New Zealand, the company owns, either in whole or in partnership with a local operator, an extensive nationwide network of eighteen dealerships.
